Transfusion: After a transfusion your blood count goes up and within 12 hours will be actual number. As for the iron supplements it will depend on the cause of the anemia but they will take weeks to make a difference in general. What what the Hb before?

Need more info: Why was your hemoglobin so that you needed transfusion? If it was due to excessive menstrual blood loss and iron deficiency, it may take over a year for you to absorb enough iron to replenish your stores. At a hemoglobin of about 9 you do not need to restrict your activities. It would be prudent to discuss the matter with your doctor. Wish you good health!
