Throat problems: If this has been ongoing more than 2 weeks and interferes with ability to swallow, the best advise is to get recommendation or referral to see an ENT--Ears, Nose, Throat specialist, also called Otolaryngologist. The specialist can do examination in the office or clinic.

Globus sensation?: Maybe globus sensation. Tends to be common in association with anxiety or other stress, but not always. Harmless except for the worry it may cause. Your friend should see a doctor to assure nothing serious. Here's an information source: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320245

Throat stuck : He can see a doctor to have it evaluated. There are several different reasons for these symptoms. More information is needed to address the concern. Is there a cough, fever, ? How is his general health ?
