Two cuts.: Two cuts... Accidental from teeth? It they are not actually "cuts", that's a different story. Wait it out and see if it goes away. If not, have him see a dentist.

New or old: Are these new cuts? If yes should go away in 2 weeks. If grooves have been there a while, could be a fissured tongue. See a licensed dentist to be sure.
