I have an abscess and swelling above my lip and slightly up the side of my nose/cheek area. can i take prednisone for this until i can get treatment?

It must be treated ASAP with antibiotics or it will spread and potentially enter the bloodstream causing a life threatening infection called sepsis. Prednisone is a medication that reduces the immune response. You should not take prednisone as your body is working hard to fight the infection.
