Fungal infections: Fungal overgrowth and infection can cause athletes foot, ringworm, toenail fungus, rashes on the scalp (tinea capitis), oral thrush and vaginal yeast infections. There are various different kinds of yeast involved in different areas and each is treated uniquely. Most often -azole medications are used to treat the various yeast infections.

Fungus infection: “Athlete’s foot” is a fungus infection between the toes. It’s itchy and the skin is often red (or brown if its been there a while). A similar fungus infection can appear anywhere on the body, especially where its warm and moist (under arms, in crotch, under fat pad if your overweight. Treatment = keeping area dry (baby powder) and a anti fungal cream. Call your doc if that doesn’t work
