A member asked:

Random parts of body jerking while wide awake - like part of my thigh or my bicep or foot or hand, what causes this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fasciculations?: Most likely these scattered "jerks" represent benign fasciculations, which are self-limited and non-progressive. When and if muscle weakness or atrophy were to accompany, then, reason to see your doctor. Otherwise, no clear reason to worry.
