A member asked:

What does a thrombosed hemorrhoid actually feel like when touched? im having pressure & have no bleeding but very uncomfortable. will it go away? think its from internal. my pcp said: try warm bath/fiber in diet, molasses and proctosol hccream 2.5?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hemorroid ?'s: A "thrombosed hemorroid" can be very painful, and bowel movements are uncomfortable. Add a stool softener like Colace to decrease the discomfort.. The clot (thromus) will liquify in time, but may reoccur. Hydration will ease constipation, but if a doctor offers remedial surgery, think twice. The "cure" surgically is worse than the disease.
