Chest pain : Chest pain usually gets a lot of attention. Typical heart problems cause the pain to be worse with extra use of oxygen like strenuous work- if that is you that see a doctor. Heart problems are more common if you are older than 45. Sharp chest pain is not usually from the heart and much less concerning, more likely from the chest wall. See a dcotor

Sharp pain: A sharp, shooting but fleeting chest pain on taking a deep breath is often caused by a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle that runs between 2 ribs. It usually resolves on its own after a few days. Avoid any strain of the rib cage until pains clear. If symptoms persist or if you develop a cough or fever see your physician for an examination as pleurisy or pneumonia can also begin with such pains.
