A member asked:

When odynophagia occurs with esophageal cancer, how is it usually described and typically where does the pain present?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Esophageal cancer: Most of the cases of esophageal cancer that I have seen through the years did not have chest pain on swallowing but rather sensation of food sticking in the chest along with progressive weight loss. I believe that actual chest pain is a late symptom.
