Husband isolated in room and got tested on day 2 of symptoms (positive) i had no definitive symptoms was tested on day 5/6 after his symptoms started. pcr. i was neg. how did i not catch covid? scared it actually was in my system?

Antibodies: If you have no symptoms, you may still have a positive PCR test. If the PCR though is negative, this is highly accurate. Continue to monitor your temperature and re test if symptoms develop. In a few weeks, you can have a Serologic test to detect antibodies to the virus. Watch for signs of cough, shortness of breath and fever.

COVID 19: If you did a good job of isolating you may not have become infected. However, timing is also important with PCR test. It would be most accurate if done 5 to 7 days after exposure or once symptomatic. Take care.
