SAFETY IN PREGNANCY: All drugs are accompanied by a statement endorsing whether that drug or its metabolites are able reach the fetus in pregnancy. The pharmacist should, but may not be aware of this statement, but one should ask. Unless such a statement assuring safety is present, I would avoid any drug after ovulation and certainly during the first trimester of pregnancy.
