Time to see doc : Tonsillitis appears likely and best would be to see your local doc. A focused exam will be needed and possible swab depending on actual findings. If not having a doc, an urgent care should be as good in order to get proper treatment.

Agree with Dr. P: Whether it is infection or other reason, a unilateral involvement of tonsil warrants evaluation by a doctor to ascertain proper treatment. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you good health!
