A member asked:

Is it normal to experience menstrual cramps 14 days before next period while on birth control? i have been taking birth control more than 2 years and i missed one pill my first week. is this implantation/ovulation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not "normal: Since oral contraceptive pills are believed to prevent ovulation and they are often used to alleviate menstrual cramps too, it would be best to request a gyn evaluation (history, pelvic-abdominal exam, pregnancy test and a pelvic sonogram...) to seek the cause of your symptoms and answer your concerns.
