My 2yr old has flu, the dr prescribed espalone which she supposed to drink once a day & flexinase. its been 2 days, she has a wet cough and mucus. can i buy her a cough mixture? which 1? what else can i do to loosen the phlegm and mucus?

Monitor/hydration: The viral illness typically resolves within 10 days and COVID 19 should also be excluded. Avoid contact with others while she is ill. Nasal saline and gentle suction will remove nasal mucus and reduce post nasal drip. Use a cool air mist humidifier and keep her well hydrated. Watch for respiratory difficulty and prolonged cough.
