A member asked:

I have a non cancerous nodule on my thyroid. why is it causing me pain if it's benign? is it my hypothyroidism that's causing me pain? i'm so confused?

Thyroid nodule: A solitary nodule in a male always raises suspicion of thyroid cancer. I assume a needle biopsy was done and was benign. Nevertheless I prefer to have a head and neck surgeon follow you, (even if you see a thyroidologist or endocrinologist) and evaluate you for the pain you're experiencing. If such a surgeon has already seen you, have him/her reexamine and advise you.
