Lower back is constantly in pain. on a scale from 1 to 10 the pain is a 6 most of the time. when inwake up the first hour or so it would be an 8. do you have a recommendation for the pain i would appreciate any help you may offer. no insurance?

Back Pain: Respecting the fact that you don't have insurance, you still need to get a diagnosis from a physician. Perhaps there is a clinic nearby. After you know what is going on, you can search the work of the late John Sarno, MD who uses a mind-body approach to pain. You don't want to blot out the pain first because it may need medical intervention. Peace and good health.

Back pain: I would start with some posture based exercises outlined by Pete Egoscue in his book "Pain Free". As long as you don't have leg symptoms, it's unlikely that your back pain is a serious problem. You might consider Volaren gel or similar products. Stay away from strong narcotics!
