Morning doctors, our son is also on our medical aid as a dependent. he is 8 months old, he has a red and raw rash at the tip of his foreskin. it must be due to the night nappies i assume. we just would like some guidance on the treatment. regards?

Foreskin inflamed: Caused by tip of penis compressed by wet nappy (called diaper in USA). Suggest wash penis with gentle soap & water, dab dry & leave him nappy free for a few hours. Redness should settle down. Do not try pull back foreskin unless it retracts easily, usually does not at his age. You can apply a little antibiotic vaseline ointment (Bacitracin, Neosporin etc) Then try & change nappies more frequently.
