There are many different causes, from common benign causes such as contamination (ie mense blood mixed with urine), strenuous exercise prior to urine collection, to more serious causes such as an infection, kidney stone, or even bladder cancer (more common in older people and people who smokes). We typically will repeat a urine sample again to confirm the result first.
