If i did my urine sample for chemistry and culture during my period (managed to get no blood in sample). waiting on culture but is it possible to get "high erythrocytes " for chemistry part of the test during my period? could my period cause this?

Yes, it’s possible to have red cells reported on your urinalysis report. Even if you can’t see the blood it’s more than likely there. To avoid confusion, you may be required to repeat a urine sample once your cycle has passed. It should not affect the urine culture.

The finding of erythrocytes (red blood cells) is consistent with the expected blood associated with menstruation, even if it was not visible to the naked eye...it was visible under the microscope and detectable on the dipstick.
