I cut my finger. a few weeks later it has healed over but has a slightly squishy lump which is sore if i knock it. the skin is still quite red. what is the lump and can i do anything to get rid of it, make it less sore (only if knocked, not generaly?

Granulation tissue: That slightly squishy lump is called granulation tissue. It is your body making new tissue to fill the defect. It is sore to touch and bump because there are new nerve endings in there. You should not try to get rid of it as over time it will turn into normal scar tissue. To make it less sore, cover with a padded bandage.
