A member asked:

Can water go from your mouth when you cough up your nose to the cribriform plate to cause brain infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Water can go up the nose but cannot get into the brain unless there is a break in the bones of base of the skull. The openings in the cribriform plate are plugged with tissue and water can not traverse that in an otherwise healthy person. Wish you good health!
