A member asked:

Recently diagnosed with vit d deficiency. had 2 weeks of 20,000 iu per day of vit d & then calcium levels checked. i read that vit d can make calcium rise, my calcium levels went down from what they were prior to vit d therapy. is that common?

Fat soluble: Vitamin D distributes in the adipose tissue of the body and it can take 2-3 months before serum levels stabilize in a normal accepted range. Calcium levels could also fluctuate during this time. Be patient, get sunshine, and recheck all in about 2 months.
