Left Chest pain: The chest pains you described may not be heart or hypertension related, but in view of the radiation to the shoulder blade on bending forward may be caused by a pinched or irritated intercostal nerve that runs between 2 ribs or from a pinched nerve root between vertebrae in the upper back from a bulging disc or spur. Nevertheless it warrants a heart exam &possibly an exam of the upper spine by MRI
