See a physician: You should consult a physician . My guess is you are probably suffering from tendonitis which can be treated with non steroidal anti inflammatory medication or steroid injection and physical therapy. If you notice any deformity of your thumb joint it can be due to arthrits. This can be diagnosed by physical examination and some imaging and lab studies

Thumb pain: Base of the thumb pain is common. Just not that common in 19year olds on my experience. This can be inflation at the thumb cmc joint (inflammatory arthritis as it is bilateral), fcr tendonitis, occult ganglia or carpal tunnel syndrome as the most likely given bilateral and 19 without a history of trauma. Also consider sesamoiditis, dequevains tenosynovitis, trigger thumb.
