Cold air: Cold and dry air may lead to bronchoconstriction and shortness of breath. Try warming the air with a loose muffler over the mouth and nose. If the symptoms are associated with chest pain or pressure, persistent, please see your PCP. A possible cause may be exercise induced bronchospasm.

Could be but unsure : For someone used to running, this is unusual and probably not due to humidity. To be on the safe side, get yourself fully evaluated. This should preferably be done by a cardiologist with access to ECG, Echocardiogram etc. You may also need the rhythm monitored while you are running . Ignoring this symptom is unwise.
