If just one day: Of symptoms and all is well now, it is not absolutely necessary, but if persistent exertional breathlessness and weakness i would see your doctor very soon.

Need evaluation: Shortness of breath with exertion should be evaluated. There are many possible causes for shortness of breath including heart or lung disease, anemia, etc, some of which may be more serious than others.. Either see you primary care physician, go to an urgent care center or emergency department as soon as possible.
