I read that taking extra vitamin d3 besides the 400 ul in the prenatal has benefits. i bought an extra 1000 ul of vitamin d3 so a total of 1400 ul i'm taking. is it safe and does it really have benefits in preventing pregnancy issues?

It is safe for you to take a total of 1,400 IU a day as supplement. More than enough of vitamin D intake does not provide any potentially beneficiary effects during pregnancy by my knowledge and mega dose can cause vitamin D toxicity. However, deficiency in vitamin D is for sure harmful to the health for both of you.
