Test results : CA19-9 is most often used to assess progress in a patient with pancreatic cancer, with decreasing levels when treatment is effective. An elevated level of CA19-9 may be caused by some other cancers as well as several non-cancer disorders including gallstones, pancreatitis and liver disease.
