Rarely needed/yes: Concussions are routinely diagnosed without any x-ray /CT or MRI as they yield little information in most cases. Change in thinking processes, visuomotor (seeing disturbance), change in behavior, alteration in the neck/spine, headaches, heart rate abnormalities & balance problems are all factored into the diagnosis.
