Probably covid: Typical symptoms of Covid are fever, cough and body aches. Unless your son has underlying medical conditions (asthma, type 1 diabetes, immyne disorder) treat the symptoms as they arise. Acetaminophen/ibuprofen for fever/aches, lots of fluids/electrolytes, rest, good nutrition. See a Dr for breathing difficulties, low oxygen, confusion, pain in the chest.

COVID 19: I don't think that I quite grasp the situation that you are describing. Your one year old was in contact with someone with COVID 19 and now is quite fussy and has a high fever? If fever becomes too high would consult with your child's pediatrician. The child should rest, hydrate, quarantine & eat healthfully. Consider use of acetaminophen or saline for nasal irrigation.
