A member asked:

I was given a z-pac for cough and felt good abt it until today when i coughed up a small bit of yellowish mucous. thought i was over covid19 impact (1st dry cough noticed on 12/12/20), but after today, and with fullness/gas i feel, which causes me to be winded when i run up a flight of stairs (unusual for me), i wonder if i should seek additional medical attention now, or wait a while longer. i'm bloated and gassy. tested positive for covid19 on 12/20/20?

Post-Covid ?'s: A positive test for Covid on "12/20/20" does require at least a 10 day quarantine. It is a frequent symptom to be "short of breath" after a positive Covid case. If respiratory problems worsen, go to an ED for evaluation.

Call treating doc: The shortness of breath is your cue to phone your treating doc to let him/her know that you have this and other remaining symptoms. Since you received treatment already THIS doc can best assess your condition and advise. Many folks do,require a 2nd round of antibiotic treatment as well as meds to ease respiratory symptoms. Good luck
