Cotton fever: This resembles sepsis but it is benign and self limiting. Treatment is symptomatic - treat fever, treat nausea etc....Best is to avoid substance abuse.

Cotton fever: If you you elicit drugs via injection & you filter drug suspensions through cotton balls - would stop that. You can use acetaminophen or an NSAID to help reduce fever.

Related to IV drugs: Cotton fever is associated with IV drug use especially heroin. It relates to the use of cotton to filter the drug. It is caused by a bacteria that is found in the cotton. It usually resolves without therapy.
