The usual.: Cotton fever refers to the transient eleva- tion in temperature within minutes after injec- tion of drug filtered through cotton, or after shooting the cottons. Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, vomit- ing, and muscle aches. NOT infected blood vessel, skin, or heart valve. Lasts average 12 hr. Rane 6 to 48 BUT improving by 12. Fluids and tylenol helpful.
