what do you suggest if my son is in rehabilitation and his friend was taken to the hospital because he had 'cotton fever'.?

Talk to your son: Cotton Fever is problem seen in IV drug users. It is not contagious, but could be seen in a group of users who share the same drugs. Given that your child is in rehabilitation already, he is not at risk for Cotton Fever. However, it is important that you discuss this with him and/or his counselor to be sure that he will not be involved with this 'friend' when he is released from rehabilitation.
