Different exercise: Sorry about your pain. Most important is to maintain form; correct body axis so as not to strain accessory muscles. May want to put a band around both knees to keep them positioned during exercise and while seated; don't splay your legs. Also place a ball or towel under the knee on a bed and push down with the knee; then use the ball/towel as a fulcrum and raise the foot. If needed use weights
