A member asked:

I was diagnosed with pancreatitis caused by high triglycerides. i was prescribed gemfibrozil & metformin. i spent the next 6 weeks on a very low-fat diet less than 30g fat. my follow-up lab showed tg were still at 1100. will a lowcarb diet help?

No...: Carbohydrates are carbohydrates and fats are fats. You need to get your fats lowered, and it isn't going to happen by decreasing your carbohydrate intake. You should spend a few hours with a dietitian/ nutritionist to help you understand what's what in your diet...think that would be extremely helpful in your situation!
