Not emergency: A burst hemorrhoid is not a medical emergency. Apply pressure until the bleeding slows, then gently clean the area by sitting in a tub filled with 2-3 inches of warm salt water. (see package of epsom salts for directions). Increase the amounts of fluids and fruits/vegetables, and take a stool softener so that she does not strain for the next few days.
