Acid pain: If you've been taking 40 mgs of omeprazole for over 7-10 days and still having symptoms, I recommend consulting a gastroenterologist for evaluation and accurate diagnosis. A gastroscopy & testing for h pylori may be recommended. In the meantime avoid caffeine, alcohol,aspirin & anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen. Avoid spicy&greasy foods.
