A member asked:

How long does it take for shoulder bursitis to heal? what should/shouldn't be done to avoid aggravating or prolonging the condition?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually 2 weeks. : Shoulder bursitis is usually the result of overuse or stress placed on the shoulder joint. With proper rest and decrease strain on the shoulder should allow proper healing. You could use cold compresses for 15 minutes at a session. You could use aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprophen to relieve pain.
