Why wont urgent care check things out unless a doctor sends you, i had a catscan yesterday and was having a lot of lower back pain and they said my doctor had to refer me,it wouldve taken a while to make the appt, so why? i couldve really used help?

Urgent Care: The concept of Urgent Care is that you can go there for immediate care without a referral. Hence for them to request a referral before care makes no sense and they cannot call themselves Urgent Care. If its radiology center - then they can request a referral.
