Pregnancy test: A missed pill can cause your natural hormones to take over and allow ovulation. The way a hormonal oral contraceptive works is the higher levels of hormone cause your body to not ovulate. No ovulation means you can't get pregnant. Although the chance is low, if you ovulated and had sex in the fertile window, you could be pregnant. Take a pregnancy test and if negative, continue taking your pills.
