Yes: If you have been tested using rapid screen, the false negative rate may be as high as 40-50%. The PCR test is far more accurate and reliable and should be the approach if you are evaluated.

Yes: Not common, but possible. Sometimes the timing might not be right for the test, some other times it may fall into the false negative range of the test, either because of a insufficient sample or not meeting detection threshold. Continue to quarantine if feeling sick and stay in touch with your GP about next step.

Agree with Dr. P: If you test too early, do not collect the specimen properly, test was not done correctly etc. Covid-19: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html Please contact your doctor by phone for further evaluation and mechanism for testing in your area. Wear a mask, stay away from others, practice hand hygiene. Be sure to get tested, if you get symptoms.
