A member asked:

I'm 39 years old and had mri head. all was clear but they found few focis of 5 mm of unexplained etiology. the neurolist said its nothing. but i am scared. can this cause atypical ttigemn neuralgia?

Opinion: Facial pain can be challenging, but your problem is NOT due to any obvious intracranial problem as your MRI is reassuring. Next task is to check for jaw and dental problems, but sinus issues may play a role. The term "atypical trigeminal neuralgia" is confusing to me, and needs clarification. Discuss with your current neurologist or get a second opinion.
