Mild vs severe: Mild Diffuse Interstitial Thickening is just that, mild. The effect is minimal. Over time, if the thickening becomes more severe due to uncontrolled asthma or other exposures such as smoking, then you may experience more breathing/oxygenation issues. Prevention is vital at this point in your disease. Keep your asthma under good control so that exacerbations are rare.
