Family practice : Citalopram is more helpful for depression although it is used for anxiety as well. If you are more anxious you could have bipolar and need additional treatment for that.

Too low dose: For my anxious patients, often they get a double whammy of experiencing more intense side effects, and needing higher doses of antidepressants than say major depression. 20mg is a low dose, the average dose for an anxiety disorder or major depression is 40mg, but you may need a higher dose like 60 mg or 80mg. Again, doing a slower titration increasing 20mg over 1-2 weeks may help.
