Get tested: The most accurate time to get tested is 4 to 6 days after exposure. If you get tested too early, you may get a false negative.Meanwhile your family needs to quarantine while awaiting testing or the test results. That period is 14 days if negative and 10 days of isolation if positive. In the US the 14 day period has been changed to 10days, or 7 days with multiple negative tests, but 14 days is best.
