Probable bruxism: Any time someone wakes up with sore teeth in the morning, it's very likely you grind or clench your teeth when sleeping. This places undue stress on teeth, stress that the teeth and supporting tissues are not designed for, and you should likely have a custom-made, hard acrylic splint (not a flexible mouthguard, which is not designed for continuous use). It is easy to diagnose this by an exam.

Grinding?: You may be grinding or clenching your teeth together. A first line of defense for this is to have a dentist do a comprehensive exam and if needed make a night guard.
