Recommend : Recommend an evaluation by your dentist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon to determine the cause of of your grinding. Many times it is stress related. As far as treatment is concerned, typically some type of night guard / bite splint is fabricated for your use.

I : I would just add to dr funari's answer. For the time being, take 2-200mg Ibuprofen tablets 1/2 hour before bed until you get a night guard made. This will lessen the pain in the morning. If you can not take ibuprofen, ask your doctor what you can take as an anti-inflammatory. Pain meds like vicoden and Percocet will not help your grinding/clenching morning pain. Only anti-inflammatory meds will.

Difficult: Bruxism (grinding) is a very common problem. Though the literature is rife with information, there is nothing definitive that can be named as a cause. Stress may be involved, or not. It is so pervasive that it is normal for a dentist to hear about it everyday. Creating a healthy bite is important, so interferences will not be subject to attrition as much. Meds not a long term fix. Nightguards help.

Snoring?: Do you also snore loudly and/or are you excessively tired during the day? If you have either, or bothnof these other symptoms don't just get a night guard. She a sleep physician and get tested for osa. Upper night guards have been shown to make osa worse.
