Biofilms: Sufficient chlorine can inactivate this organism. Drinking water with this bug does not cause disease. Visit this site for information on this topic: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/naegleria/public-water-systems.html Do not go swimming in untreated water. Wish you good health!

Inadequate Chlorine: “Naegleria fowleri can grow in public & private water tanks and pipes, especially where little or no disinfectant (like chlorine or chloramine) is present. It can also grow in the pipes & water heaters of homes & buildings. “ REF: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/naegleria/general.html
