Threw out solid sewing pin had it for 1 year. got pricked by it when i put pin in trash in my garage. risk for hiv if pin touched dry boxes in trash i had few hrs prior? no hiv+ people in-house. virus can move & infect between inanimate objects?

Not HIV: There is no risk for HIV transmission in above described circumstances, virus cannot live or move on and/or from inanimate objects. Make sure your tetanus shot is up to date and watch the wound until healed as superficial skin infections are still possible.
